The Mediam

The Mediam is a band made up of a couple young men from Portland, Oregon. These guys are definitely from the rock genre, but according to their myspace:

"Labeling THE MEDIAM would be an injustice to their music.
The group's musical influences range from Bad Religion to Bowie with
"traces of post hardcore ala Quicksand, laced with straight up rock
elements from bands like the Foo Fighters." (Metro/Chicago)

I think I'll just stick to what I need to say, plain and simple:
These guys are good, check 'em out.

A few of their listed tracks on their Myspace are:
  • Move
  • Slide
  • Dune City
  • Love Is A Battlefield
Yes, you are correct, their song Love Is A Battlefield is a cover, and it's awesome!

Page 9

Here's my story with Page 9: I was down in Texas for spring break this year, which was just this past week, and I logged on to myspace and noticed I had a message. Low-and-behold it was a message from these two asking me to check their music out. I clicked, I listened, I loved; simple as that. It turns out, these two are from Dallas, Texas themselves (what a coincidence!) so my mind was completely blown. The End!

Now it's time for me to brag about them and glorify them as much as I can:
Page 9 is a duo band from Dallas, TX. Their style is upbeat and catchy and I'm in mad love with their single, Left Behind. Their genre is a bit of rock and pop and it mixes excellently together. In a way, they remind me of Fall Out Boy, but at the same time, they don't. Check them out for yourself, you'll see what I mean.

So here's the thing, these guys only have one song on their profile at the moment, but it's amazing!
-Left Behind

I have good news though, in 23 days, 13 hours, 9 minutes, and 5 seconds [there's a count down on their profile] their new EP, HEARTBEATS & CITYSTREETS, will be for sale on all digital retailers which means more awesome music!

Dawn Of Ashes

Do you like that industrial/aggro tech/death metal music, with lyrics over filled with gore, hatred, and death? Welp, I have the perfect band for you. These guys are very dear to me, because once I found them, I instantly grew an attachment to them. Introducing Dawn of Ashes, a band of genius. With their earlier work, they were more aggressive industrial music, whereas later into their careers, they decided to go more death metal, and let me tell you, either way they go, they're still amazing to me. Although I love their industrial stuff to the max, I'm liking their transition into the death metal scene. So If you like music either in the aggressive industrial field, or the death metal music in the other field, check out these guys. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. :)

Songs currently posted are:
-Bring Forth The Cremation
 -The Filth Coated Heart
-Carnal Consummation in the Empty Space
 -Harvest the Impaled
Note that obviously these songs are under their new death metal stuff. If you're not too interested in this, check out their earlier work. Look 'em up on Google and you'll be able to find it. Two of my personal favorites of their industrial songs would be Abyss and Where Angels Die. Check them out for yourself, and as I said before, you won't be disappointed. :)

New Tactic to Posts: Revised

In the previous note, I said I was going to start posting multiple bands in each post, every time... I lied. I'll do it for some, other times I'll do individual band posts. Why have I decided to take back what I said? Because I thought about it, and I kind of like the way the archive for this blog looks. :P
Plus, it'll be 10 times easier to look through past posts and through all the bands with their names listed as titles compared to a genre title that might not have that band in it. Get what I'm saying? I hope so, because I almost confused myself.
A second reason would be due to the fact that I love giving individual posts to bands that I think deserve it. Writing individual posts for bands makes it more meaningful I think. :)

New Tactic to Posts

Alright, I'm going to try a new and different way of posting. Instead of doing one post for each band [which I somewhat liked to do...] I'm now going to incorporate multiple bands into one post, every time. I'll stick to one genre/style for each post. I figured I'd do this just for the fact that I'll get more bands up and there will be more music to hear. I'm still only doing bands that I enjoy and think are worth promoting. A little harsh? Perhaps, but I don't want crappy bands getting any limelight when they obviously suck. Who wants to hear crappy music played on the radio 5 times an hour? Oh wait, that already happens.
Enjoy the music guys :)

Floral Terrace

Floral Terrace is native to Haverstraw, New York. Ahh, New York, the state of finance, art, entertainment, and International Government. It looks to me as though New York is living up to the entertainment part. With amazing guitar and drum talent by members John and George, member Justin produces excellent vocals for all the songs. Not only do the songs have good instrument talent and a nice voiced singer, they also have excellent lyrics. There are some bands that have an awesome sound, and an awesome singer with a great voice, but once you listen to the lyrics, they actually totally stink like an outhouse in the dead of August... Yeah, thank god these guys aren't like that at all!
Their songs currently posted are:
 -Something Better
 -City
                 -First To Leave
                    -One Shot Clover
Even though all of these songs are amazing, I'm going for One Shot Clover. It was the first song I heard from them and the first song I fell in love with for these guys.

Me, The Mirror

Me, The Mirror shoots out from The Windy City: Chicago. Apparently, according to their myspace, they are making arrangements with labels even before they played a single show. This honestly isn't hard to believe at all. Listen to their music and trust me, you will totally understand. In conclusion, if you're one who is into that teenage style music, with the hot/goregous guys and their somewhat whiny voices, you will enjoy these guys. Even though there are 3 guys in this group, this was the only image with more than one dude in it that I could find [sorry Mat McLaughlin].
The songs that are currently on their myspace are:
                        -The Machine Made Me
-Morning in the Middle of Your Eyes
-Vagrant

As I said before, it's not hard to believe that these guys are making arrangements with a label even before they played a single show, because honestly, they are really, really good. Thus, I can not pick a favorite song; all three of these songs are truly amazing.
